Description

These three beasts are the simplified standard forms created by the ruler of each realm in my comic Monochrome (coming soon-ish). They are created to patrol, bring order, or simply watch the worlds they are made in. Their sentience is questionable, but humans regard them as beings of high power:sacred guards, spiritual entities, or fierce monitors. They are divided accordingly.

The black ram-like monster, referred to as a shade, is the creation of Oinopa Ponton; they police the Dark Realm but admittedly don't do much to exert order over the inhabitants of the realm. Mostly, though, they're viewed as a nuisance people have to skirt around on the streets, and much like their master do a poor job of apprehending trouble.

The white feathered beast,  named as a tint, belongs to Tabula Rasa; they hold a cold demeanor while guarding the Light Realm's inhabitants, and are very protective, but have been known to be cruel. There are stories of them flying off with people who have angered them in some way and being taken to their master's tree never to be seen again.

And finally the dragon deer, known as a tone, is the servant of Checkers; they mostly inhabit the endless forests of the Gray Realm, remaining at a distance from humanity but always staying vigilant - much like their master. They slip in and out of trees, becoming more numerous and agitated the closer someone gets to the center of Checker's forest. Humans view them as forest spirits that are to be feared and highly respected, although the tones will almost never approach a human on their forested grounds.
